The Research And Development Of Enterprise Instant Message Based On Internet

The Real-time Interactive and low cost of Instant Message has promoted itself another internet tool for modern enterprise communication besides telephone and Email. But many communication software which based on intranet can not work when the enterprise's branch was located in different areas, and most popular internet personal instant message software which used by most employees will bring on some problems on security and management for the supervisors, so that people are in dire need of a better enterprise instant message platform because of the growing instance.Followed by the demand of a certain enterprise, we designed and developed an Enterprise Instant Message software with the support of SQL Server 2000 database system based on Delphi. In this program, C/S architecture is adopted. The major work and achievement of this article asfollow:1. For the problem of the cross-area of the enterprise, we proposed a C/S architecture based on internet, which made the communication between different areas of the enterprise become reality.2. Appointed IP addresses are assigned to different servers, so that the communications between clients are available only with the supports of a given server. Different enterprise may setup its own IM system by different servers which are given different IP addresses.3. This IM system considered not only the real-time communication, but also other functions according to the demands of the enterprise, just like file transfer, the group management and so on. What's more, modularization is another feature of this system. Necessary interfaces have been reserved, which make the future-development and the function expanding more easily.The IM system has been deployed in the enterprise, and has been running stably for a certain time, which shows that the system has met all the designed goals and also fulfills the enterprise's main requirement. The IM system helps the enterprise to realize the low cost real-time communication, and also reduce the unnecessary internet chat, which can greatly increase the working efficiency.Because of the lack of time, some problems haven't been considered sufficiently, just as data backup, data security and so on. At the same time, after running for a period of time, we find many frequently used OA functions, like BBS, Email and so on, which can also be integrated in the system. We will improve the IM system in future.
