Sichuan Network Communication Key Laboratory (SC-Netcom Lab) introduced a novel architecture called SUPA (Single physical layer User-data transfer Platform Architecture), which can improve the user data transfer efficiency and overcome the shortcomings of existing architectures in Internet with regard to QoS provisioning. It use the out-band signaling concept to simplifie the user-data transfer platform (U-platform) into a single physical layer, which can greatly improve efficiency as well as QoS provisioning for user data in the U-platform.SUPANET is used in the backbone network mormally. It interconnects all kinds of access networks and provding network services with QoS guarantee. The most advantage of SUPA is the concept of out-band signaling and ethernet-like physical frame timeslot switching. Morevoer, the purpose of WiMAX is providing wireless broadband access is convenient, high-performance and with QoS guarantee. So, SUPANET to be interconnected with WiMAX is practical needs. It can extens SUPA's scope and brings the end-to-end services with QoS providing to the users. It can provides all kinds of service simultaneous and meets the requirements of migration from existing separated cable TV, telephone switching network, and computer networks to a converged network. The interconnection scheme which is established in this papaer using the Gateway connects the SUPANET and the WiMAX network. Using out-band signaling technology, the Gateway is divided into control-plane and user-plane. The control - plane in charge of the coversion of the signaling and building the end-to end virtual connection according to the specific QoS requirements. The user data transfer via the user-plane of the Gateway, and the Gateway converts the data format.,since the establishment of virtual connection. Meanwhile, in order to improve network management efficiency, Gateway has been integrated the WiMAX base station. This scheme which was designed not only maintains the independence of SUPANET and WiMAX, but also provides the end-to-end services with QoS providing. In this paper, the deployment of the interconnected network and the specific workflow is established. The detailed logci design of the key equipment - Gateway has been done. A detailed coversion process of the singaling transfer under the control-plane has been designed, and the conversion method of infromation unit's translation has been designed. The deatail state transtions of the Gateway have been established too. Finally, a simulation has been done under the OPNET application, and the result shows that the interconnection scheme is correct and work, it can provide the end-to-end service with QoS guarantee between SUPA's user and WiMAX's user.
