Along with the wireless video transmission technology's swift development, the wireless video transmission system obtains the widespread application in the modern society, such as the highway traffic control system, the harbor route alternation control system, the important place video monitoring, the school experiment teaching etc. This thesis was based on the cooperation project between Taiwan Motech Industries Inc. and the Dalian Maritime University Antenna Microwave Research Institute. The goal is to improve the performance for the RF2000 wireless video transmission system's antenna. This system's original antenna exists some disadvantages like low gain, narrow bandwidth, bad matching and so on, which causes the system signal's transmitting range to be short, the antijamming ability to be weak, transmission signal not clear etc. A microstrip antenna is designed and realized for the improvement of the RF2000 wireless video transmission system. The performance of the RF2000 wireless video transmission system has been improved greatly by the novel antenna.Based on the references, using the theory and simulation method, The antenna using in the RF2000 wireless video transmission system has been designed. The work includes the design of the unit antenna, the design of the antenna array and the design of the feed network.Firstly, based on the original antenna simulation result analysis and the analysis of the single-fed circular polarized microstrip antenna, the antenna unit has been designed using the form of the single-fed monolayer rectangular cutting angle circular polarized microstrip antenna. Compared with the original antenna, this antenna has many merits, like high gain, broad bandwidth, good matching, low cost etc. The simulation and the actual results indicate that this antenna unit's technical specification satisfies the wireless video transmission system's request.Secondly, according to the microstrip antenna array theory, the two elements and the four elements arrays have been designed to further enhance technical specification of the RF2000 wireless video transmission system, and the two elements antenna array has been manufactured. The simulation results and the actual results have the good uniformity. Compared with the antenna unit, the antenna arrays have many advantages like the high gain, the wide main petal angle, the low level of the minor petal etc.Thirdly, based on the theory about the powder divider, the feed network for the antenna arrays has been designed which is used in the RF2000 wireless video transmission system. The feed network is formed by the T-junction power dividers and the microstrip transmission line. The simulation results indicate that this feed network achieves the good match in resonance frequency 915MHz, satisfies the design requirements of the wireless video transmission system.
