Research On The Archives' Social Value Based On Contingent Valuation Method

As a charitable organization for social services , the archives are contr- oversial since they were existed. Public always think that theirs output is too little comparing with their input, and this suspicious attitude brings a bad result that the archives develop too slowly. As to solve the trouble, many archives scholars try to explain and prove the archives' social values in theory all the time. But public never agree with theoretical and macroscopical results.This article adopts a abroad popular methods named contingent valu- ation method(CVM) to research the users' basic information , spent time, money and so on in A municipality, and calculate the Willing To Pay (WTP) and Willing To Accept(WTA). In the end, we can calculate the ROI(Return To Investment) of A municipality's archive. Moreover, analy- se the reason of different ROI due to the different education and age. Ac- cording to the certain data and objective facts, we can supply the archives' survival social values.
