The Application Of MLAPI In The WCDMA Terminal Test System

On January 7 2009,China Unicom got the license of the operation of wcdma network.So more and more equipment manufactures devote to the reserch and development of the third Generation terminals.Mobile terminal is the key section of the WCDMA industry chain.With the deployment of commercial operation,the quality of the terminal becomes one of the most important factors whether subscribers choice the third generation service.So that improve the technology of test on terminal is a emergency task.In our country,the conformance test of access network licence includes:Protocol,RF,Audio,Interface of sim card.Among them,protocol test crucially affect the performance of mobile terminal.At present,the development of the protocol conformance test case genarally based TTCN that is a code Language.The notation of it combined with numbers and tables.TTCN was recommend as the test specification description language of the UMTS testsuits.But due to the extension of test requirement,the limitation of TTCN was shown:it was defined by 3GPP,we can not change it according to the requirement of client and absent in fexibility;Because The feature of it was based L1,L2 interface,the conformance configuration prone to complex and falible;A serises of medium implements include:TTCN compiler,TTCN editorand C compiler,prolong the development period; The testcase can not fulfil the demands in some more complicated scenarios,becasuse of the absence of some definitions of statemachines;Whether the applicaton of end to end test or the Inter-operation test can not be made with TTCN whcih was distributed by 3GPP.All the sections of the industry chain need to find a suit of mutil-expansibility protocol conformance test cases.In German, the MLAPI class library developed by R&S Corporation can fulfil the satisfication of both terminal and chip manufacture as well as access network licence hold by MIIT and communicaion operators.The thesis presents the works that author has taken when participated in the project The development of protocol conformance test case based MLAPI C++ .Author taken charge of designing parameter configuration and the definition of protocol interface according to the specification of communication industry.The primary contents of this thesis are described as follows:First, introduce WCDMA system, the theory of conformance test and the advantage of MLAPI.Second, discuss WCDMA UE Protocol conformance test framework, and introduce CRTU Protocol Conformance Test System.Third, analyze protocol procedure and test cases,Fourth, accomplish design and development of mobile subscriber terminated call test case.At last, summalize the work author has done and give some advices for future work.
