| Land use and land cover change forms major aspect of global change on both regional and global scales. Both bio-geographical and the socio-economic factors drive it, so LUCC is highly comprehensive and regional. At the same time, LUCC plays a direct role in the global environmental change, so it becomes the focus of programs established by different international organizations such as IGBR, IHDP and WCRP. The research on LUCC in Nanxian County is a typical regional case study. It provides plentiful and valuable information regionally for the comprehensive study to LUCC.This Paper regards Nanxian County as its study object. Nanxian County of Hunan Province is located in the northwestern part of plain of Dongting Lake, the ecological environment is fragile, the natural calamity is frequent. Because of its special natural geographical features and as its driving factors of its society, its economic and its politics were complicated and changeable. Its land use and land cover have suffered rapid changes in recent years. Regards town and country as the unit of analysing, taking the statistical data, the author analyzes its land use current situation, characteristics, questions, and its time and space dynamic change of the land use, and its driving factors. Then the author brings out some models and countermeasures for regional land use development. All of those will offer abundant and valuable regional information to the synthesizing research on land use. At the same time, it is the basic request of improving its environment instruction and realizing the regional sustainable development.Through above-mentioned analysis, the article draws following meaningful conclusion:(1) Among 20 years, the speed of land use change was very fast. Display it in the following several points concretely: land use pattern change a heavy one field, herb land and forest land secondly most, water areas, unutilized ground, traffic land and cultivated land again, and residential area and land used for industrial and mining rate of change minimum.(2) Over the past 20 years, the land use intensity was relatively high, the land use intensity of change R is smaller than zero, prove that this district land use is adjusting on phase.(3) During 20 years, the human activity has obvious influence on landscape pattern, the indexes of view deviates from degree, the indexes of view diversity and variety and the indexes of view evenness shows a tendency to reduce, but the indexes of view dominance shows a tendency to increase.(4) Population, economic development and policy are the socio-economic main factors which drive land use change in Nanxian County. |
