On "Living Labor Creates Value"

On the occasion of commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Party, President Jiang Ze-ming emphasized in his speech made on the 1st of July that, combined with the new reality, we must have a further study of the theory of social labor and labor value. Following this, the academe of the whole country launched out into a series studies on work value and put forward many new ideas and opinions, what's the source of value? This involves something about political economics of Marxism. Engles said that labor creates human beings. It is the labor that makes the difference between human beings and animals. Labor is the way in which human beings can survive. The theory of labor value is the basis of Marxist economics, which is built up on it. Any doubt and denial of labor value should not be allowed to exist. However the theory of living labor creating value came into being more than 100 years ago after all. What the time going by, we must have a further study of it, better it and keep pace with the times, at the same time, sticking to Marx's basic principle of value source.However, the scholars don't have a fully understanding of labor, labor value and laborers. In fact, the basic principle of labor value is the idea of laborers' living labor creating value. In commodities, labor is the source of value. Laborers, being the main part of labor, and the principal part of producing goods and source of value. After the above being known, the main part and function of labor and laborers can be accepted in market economy. Without labor and laborers, there will be no social economical activities and will be no human society, either.Developing and making a further study of Marx's labor value involves our open mind and seeking truth from facts and combination with inheritance, persistence and advancement. Under the new conditions, while sticking to the theory of Marx's living labor creating value, we should enrich and better the theory of labor value. With the development of technology, the way of creating value and working is changing. As a result, mental work is becoming, more and more. Science work, administrating, service, education and researches are being more and more important forms of work. This requires us to deal with the labor value with a new look and use it in our socialist modernization construction.
