| Xi'an Gas Parent Company (XGPC) is a large-scale state-owned company with a property of public utilities. Its management stands a status of hold the market at all times. The prominent industry advantage and extensive market requirement formed a status that can develop rapidly and needn't care about the strategy of the firm. With the gradually opening of the public utilities, a great deal of the foreign capitals and nongovernmental businesses have poured into the urban gas industry, which has brought about the significant impact on the state-owed gas company. On facing tremendous change of the exterior environment of the firm, it is very important to study the direction of the company development on the viewpoint of strategy.In current study, general management strategy of the company was discussed thoroughly by applying the theories of corporation strategy management and the knowledge of modern management, and by linking the characteristics and status of the XGPC. Firstly, the exterior macro environment of the XGPC was analyzed by PEST analytical method, and exterior micro environment was analyzed by Porter's Five-Power Model. Then the firm's interior run conditions was analyzed and evaluated from the aspects of the company resources, capacity status, the existed problems, and so on. The general strategy of the XGPC was oriented by SWOT analytic model. The general run strategy of increasing type with characteristic of "Based on gas industry, densely developments, full of orientations run" was established by using the theory of modern management, and relevant strategies ofbusiness-level and functional-level was brought about.Finally, the concerted measures of guarantying strategy implement was brought forward from seven aspects, that is, expediting enterprise system modification, reforming organization structure, updating run and market strategy, developing interior contract, consolidating finance management, human resource support, strengthening corporation culture. |
