Study On Yinchuan Urban Competitiveness

With the integration of global economy and booming of knowledge economy, the competition between country and country are displayed as the competition between urban and urban since 1990s too. As a result, urban competitiveness has become a focus that many countries and districts are concerning about presently. China, a developing country, and many cities growing up in the Western of China are more concerning it. As a important city of Western China, it is very important for Yinchuan whether to catch hold of opportunities and upgrade its urban competitiveness.The object of this paper is Yinchuan. Yinchuan urban competitiveness is studied and analyzed by the numbers, and set up scientific index system. Through the comparison with other cities by several methods supplement each other. The paper concludes that Yinchuan urban competitiveness is in low level because of the lack of economic gross, the level of urban cluster lower and so on. Based on these reasons, and then put forward some countermeasures to upgrade its urban competitiveness. The paper has several under primary contents introduced:Firstly, the paper puts forward new conception of urban competitiveness based on introducing domestic and overseas theories and models about research of urban competitiveness, and then sets up index system including thirty-four indexes.Secondly, the paper compares about urban competitiveness among Yinchuan and other cities. Though quantitative analysis, there are some results: Yinchuan competitiveness belongs to the 4th level, it has widening gap with Haikou, Wulumuqi etc. Yinchuan takes some advantages of infrastructures and level of city's servings, but otherwise economy and cluster level dropping behind other cities.Thirdly, the reasons and influential factors of the low level of Yinchuan urban competitiveness are analyzed. The low level of Yinchuan urban incarnates facets underside: (1) Lack of industry competitiveness (2) level of urban cluster lower. (3) Environment competitiveness and servicing level better, but big gap existing with others. (4) Population general quality lower, etc.Lastly, aimed at Yinchuan present status, the paper puts forward some countermeasures: (1) Developing industry cluster and building industrial park better. (2) Fostering Yinchuan metropolis to enhance level of urban cluster. (3) Enhancing human resource management to improve level of scientific and technological innovation. (4) Encouraging nonpublic-owned corporations developing. (5) Upgrading more urban infrastructures as wide place for Yinchuan economy. (6) Quickening transformation of government function and innovation of system.
