Comprehensive Evaluation Of Urban Logistics Competitiveness Based On Principal Component Analysis And Cluster Analysis

City logistics is an important part of the city’s economic development. It becomes increasingly vital role in promoting the national economy. Developing the city logistics, it is to conducive to enhance the city’s comprehensive competition.The development of logistics in city makes more attention at all levels of government administration as well. As "the third profit source", city logistics is considered as the artery of the national economy, The level of which development has become the measure of a country or a city comprehensive strength of one of the main signs.We build a competitiveness index system of evaluating the city logistics’ performance based on the comprehensive theory of city logistics firstly. Then the paper accumulates experiences from the studies about urban logistics and the City logistics competitiveness evaluation at home and abroad; discusses the connotations of urban logistics competitiveness, and the relationship between urban logistics and urban economic by synthetically apply the theories and methods from multiple. Competitiveness index system of evaluating the city logistics’performance includes six the first level evaluation index and twenty-four the second level evaluation index. In the most important parts of fifth chapter,we not only analysis the competitiveness in other eight cities among the Pearl River Delta, Such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Dongguan,,Zhongshan,Huizhou, Zhuhai, Zhaoqing. But also we give them a research about latest ten years’city logistics from2003to2012. In order to clearly illustrate this problem, we use the theory of principal component analysis and cluster analysis to explain it. We take Jiangmen as an example at the same time.
