The risk exists in the petrochemical project as a whole, which includes itembuilding, design, construction and management. A great deal of capital will beinvested during construction. Its risk is very great. Especially, the temperature andpressure of the diesel oil hydrogenation unit are very high, and there is a lot ofhydrogen in it as well. The quality, schedule, investment and safety of the project willbe largely influenced as a result of the problems of design, contractor and supplier.Project manager should have risk consciousness, and reduce the project risk to thelowest point at full steam by enhancing management. The investment should be fullyarranged in reason.The theory of the risk management is employed in this article. It distinguishedthe possible risk from the project, and analyzed the main venture in detail, anddiscussed the method that would effectively control and reduce the risk. Many casesand risks of the project working have been studied deeply for nearly one year. Whichis applied in the petrochemical project was also adopted to monitor the venture in realtime in this paper.The frequency of key project risk and losing grade are all better than the averagelevel of alike domestic set after the risk management of diesel oil hydrogenationproject in HBPEC. The risks in the process of construction were preferably controlled.The economy and society benefits of the project was increased.
