With the rapid development of both insurance and trust industries, on the one hand, the investment field of insurance capital is narrow due to the strict regulations. On the other hand, trust as the only financial channel connecting the money market, capital market and industry, has not been considered as the investment field of insurance capital. Given this question, firstly, concerning the advantage of trust, the development of the trust industry and present situation of the investment of insurance capital in our country? and studying the foreign trust investment of insurance capital, this paper suggests that trust investment of insurance capital is a feasible and strategic decision. Then, as of how to use insurance capital, this paper gives the three models for the investment of insurance capital. The first model is to allow the insurance asset management firms to operate trust business. The second model is to allow insurance company's equity to invest trust company. The third one is to entrust trust company to manage capital. This paper also introduces some promising businesses such as collective investment schemes, insurance-trust product, the securitization-beneficiary certificate, venture capital. Finally, this paper gives a deep analysis of the risks, returns of trust investment of insurance capital, and points out the potential problems of trust investment of insurance capital and gives some suggestions of the problems and draws a conclusion.
