Nowadays, cooperation with organizations is one of the most important featuresin the businesses world. In today's rapidly changing environment, no singleorganization can always keep its high-level ability of competition without thecoordination of other organizations. And the competition is not among companies butsupply chains in a certain industry all over the world.Commonly, there are three streams, visible or invisible, in a supply chain, theyare cash stream, material stream and information stream. Effective supply chainmanagement requires effective inventory management in each node of the chain, Thispaper introduces you several phrases of inventory management such as IndependentDemand Inventory,MRP and MRPⅡ,and ERP. Maintaining an efficient inventorymanagement strategy can help industrial plant managers improve and ensure thesuccess of their operations. The bullwhip effect occurs when the demand order fluctuations in the supplychain is amplified as they move up the supply chain, it will brings the higherinventory to upstream supplier compared to downstream supplier and will damage thecompetition of the supply chain. In chapter 2, we uses a simple inventory modelnamed (s, S) model to induce AR(1) model, our result is that factors such as thenumber of nodes in supply chain, the order lead time and centralized demandinformation causes the effect, we also demonstrate that the bullwhip effect can bededuces, but not completely eliminated, by centralized information. On the basis of analysis of bullwhip effect using AR(1) model, there are threepopular methods of inventory control emerge in the recent years: the Vendor ManagedInventory (VMI) , the Jointly Managed Inventory (JMI) and the Third PartyLogistics(TPL), and this article discusses these three methods in details. Meanwhile, how to counteract the bullwhip effect by method of these three methods is discussedin chapter 6. At last, this article displays and discusses the implement of thesemethods by the case of Lenovo.
