| In the 21st century, with the improvement of science and technology and development of market economy, enterprises face significant changes in the competitive situation. The original mode of management focusing on an enterprise's inner resources and competitiveness has been unable to adapt to new competition. According to the trend of global competition, more and more business communities pay attention to supply chain management. In recent years, China's health care system reform has entered a critical period which modern logistics and supply chain management are widely used in pharmaceutical companies. Supply chain management appeared in 1980s and rapid rised abroad due to reducing inventory, lowering costs and improving customer service. Supply chain management meets the requirements of the times because it not only considers the resources and competitiveness in the internal enterprise as well as outside the enterprise and emphasizes integration of resources as a new management idea and method.Pharmaceutical industry is called the "sunrise industry" and more and more pharmaceutical companies have realized that management is important and critical for efficiency. The research of implementation of inventory with the background of supply chain management is an important mean for modern pharmaceutical enterprises to create core competitiveness. This article mainly based pharmaceutical company's own operating status of W combined with the theory, analysing the drug supply chain characteristics, the existing supply chain processes and structures, inventory replenishment methods and so on, identifies shortcomings and gives recommendations for improvement. In this paper, I have designed supply chain inventory improvements and reconstructed VMI-based supply chain inventory management process according to W pharmaceutical company's specific issues. This research results on the inventory management should make use for reference in pharmaceutical companies. |
