Engineering change is one of the most important operations in business activities involved in the enterprise production management. When the user needs changes, such as the one from suppliers, from the emergences of quality, from update of the product and manufacturing process errors of the product, and etc, it is necessary to the baseline for the proposed project to be changed. Well-defined management for the collaborative engineering change can be to support the rapid and effective organization of all the department staff. Facing to the management of the engineering changes, the enterprises must resolve the questions how to monitor the availability the engineering change data related to the process.This paper investigates the combination of the engineering change processes and the standards of automobile industry for the engineering change management of the automobile parts. Focusing on the risk factors assessed on the engineering changes in project, this paper establishes a model of the risk assessment for the engineering change and puts forward the evade measures for the engineering change management. The main content includes:1. According to the standard of ICM'S CM Ⅱ , combining the standards of TS16949 for the production character and change character about the automobile part, through the example for the improved flow of one automoblie part enterprise, this paper builds up an engineering change model oriented to the automobile part manufacturing enterprises;2. By analyzing the risk factors in the engineering change process of the automotive components, this paper establishes the analysis models of the risk factors in the engineering change processes. The weighted value of risk guide line is calculated and then assessed with the AHP and fuzzy assessment respectively;3. Based on risk assessment to the engineering-change process, the strategies to avoid the risks are brought forward.4, The above-mentioned research is validated with the design and development of the engineering change process management software. This software has resolved theproblem of engineering change management respectively for an automobile part enterprise.This Paper will used the analysis model of the risk factors applied to the engineering change assessment practice and the engineering-change risk measures to avoid a major of risks in the automobile part engineering change management, provide a powerful decision support, and enhance engineering-change management.
