With the developing market economy and the increasing scale of the commodity circulation, the competition of the distribution industry are getting fierce. After China obtained the membership of WTO, the logistics enterprise from all over the world came to China, making the competition of the distribution industry more and more fierce. Therefore, if the local distribution enterprise want to be somebody in the industry, it must have good management to upgrade the managerial skills. Based on the above statements, this article gives a further discussion of the distribution center's hardcore—the information system of distribution center. The home-made logistics management software are simple and isolated, lacking systematization, unification, soundness and integration, which makes it very difficult to integrate management and control together within the up-to-date logistical equipment, and also makes it difficult to establish an integral supply management with enterprise logistics. This article builds up an universal and comprehensive information system for logistics distribution center. According to the general procedure of software engineering and the basic principle of engineering, it gives a detailed demand analysis of market development, functional demand, business flow, dataflow, and designs operation flow, functional structure and database for the managerial sub-system of a distribution center's purchasing system. Finally, it makes practical development of a distribution center's purchasing system using object-oriented methods and the programming language is C++Builder 6.0, with the operation system of Microsoft SQLServer2000. The further development of other sub-systems and the improvement of this system shall be done by the author in the future.
