From the 70s to the 80s of the 20th century, with the rapid development of Silicon Valley and the Third Italy, a newly developed pattern of industry organization-industry cluster has become the typical model of regional development in many countries and regions. Regional clusters have the characteristics of being specialized, flexible and embedded. Thus they can not only avoid the weakness of being overstaffed in the case of Ford model, but that of inadequate resources in the case of small and middle-scale enterprises, whereby the flexibility and the specialty of the small and middle-scale enterprises are often possessed by them. Consequently regional clusters can bring the regional industry competitive advantages and promote the development of regional economy, which have become a world-wide economic phenomenon.Based upon the flourishing of industry clusters, some regional industry brands have been gradually taken shape. On the one hand, as an important method of and carrier to the building up of a regional industry brand, the development of regional clusters may directly determine whether the industry brand can last long. On the other, with the regional industry strength and internal values exhibited in it, the regional industry brand can greatly enhance the development of regional clusters. So there is a strong dynamic connection between regional clusters and its industry brands in an area.By combining the both in the thesis, the writer has made a multi- subject systematic analysis of features of externality of a regional industry brand, those of regional public goods and of incorporeal capital. Based on it, he further introduces the characteristics of spreading and maintenance of the regional industry brand, which are conditioned by regional clusters. Finally, through the illustration of the strategies used in the regional industry brand maintenance, he puts forward the features of management research in regional industry brands in the condition of regional clusters, which are of great significance to the regional development.
