A Reference Research On Project Management Policy Of World Bank

At present, World Bank loan projects have become important parts of the domestic infrastructure construction. However , there are many problems in the domestic work of implementing World Bank loan projects at current phase. Many factors are responsible for this, but one of the main factors is that we don' t have adequate knowledge about the management policy of World Bank and we neglect the difference of main policy between World Bank and China. On the other hand, effective project management is a crucial approach to decrease cost, improve quality and shorten construction period. After our entry into WTO, all industries have joined international market, facing increasingly severe competition. However, the level of project management of our country is relatively low as a whole. Therefore, it is imperative for us to improve our level of project management and to accelerate standardization and globalization of project management. One of the fundamental causes for our low level of project management is that we are short of the guidance of advanced policy of project management. The policy of project management of World Bank represents international advanced level at a certain extent. So, it is vital for us to study the management policy of World Bank loan projects and to compare it with that of China so as to find out the gap in policy of project management between them and bring forward corresponding measures to improve the policy.This thesis deeply researches on the main policy ( investment estimate method, purchase management, accounting principles, internal auditing, environmental and emigration management) of World Bank, points out the advanced theories and successful experiences which are worthwhile for us to study and learn from. This helps our country to introduce andadopt scientific and strict theories, modes and methods of international organizations. Thus, we can improve our level of project management feasibly and effectively and accelerate standardization and globalization of project management.What' s more, this thesis deeply compares the main policy of World Bank with that of China, finds out the gap in policy of project management between China and international organization and brings forward corresponding measures to improve the policy. It helps to make the ioaners know much more about the policy of project management of World Bank and avoid many unnecessary errors in project management. Also, it has much reference value for the application, planning and implementation of the proposed World Bank loan projects.
