Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and international trade are two of the most important economic phenomenon in the globalization of economy. With the formation and development of the international production system of multinational companies, international trade and international direct investment permeates step by step. They interact with each other and their relationship has become a focus of research of those economists.As the most powerful country in the fields of FDI and international trade, America has played an essential role in the development of world economy. The effects of FDI on international trade are obvious, but are put up to different extents in different industries. Taking America as an example to analyze the differences of the effects in different industries is helpful to better understand the process of interaction of those two important economic phenomenon.What's more important, grasping the effects of FDI on international trade in America can help we improve the relationship of Sino-US trade and investment, and help our country improve the external trade of those two countries when introducing FDI from the America.The FDI relationship between China and US have developed very rapidly, which give us a chance to use the FDI's impact on foreign trade. It is helpful to release the trade conflict between Chine and US. We can expect that through the interact of FDI and foreign trade, the relationship of Sino-US economy and trade will developed broadly and harmoniously.
