The hi-tech industry is a leading industry in China. The hi-tech industry developments and hi-tech goods exports brings about new technology and induce new skill demands. When the skill supplies matches market demands, the employment problem in our country can be greatly solved.In light of employment structures and skill measurements the author puts forwards the concept of the skill structure of the employment, which is the proportion of different sorts of employees with different level skills to the total employment.Based on the theories of sector-biased and skill-biased technological changes, the author establishes econometric models to test how much hi-tech goods exports and other affecting factors influence the skill structure of the employment. The results show that R&D activities, capital deepening and investments evidently help to increase the employment of skill labors. In the long run, hi-tech goods exports improve the skill structure of the employment in China.
