| Technological progress has a dual effect on employment,so its impact on the labor market has to be considered while vigorously promoting science and technology.Firstly this paper defines the concept of technology and skill structure.Basing on the theory of technological progress,we analyses two major sources of technological progress in China:domestic innovation and acquired technology from international trade and technology transfer.Then we set up a mechanism framework to explain how technology progress effect skill structure in labor market through industrial change,enterprise technology choice,social division.Especially,the development of information technology widen the way of self-improvement,so that the percent of skilled workers has been improvement.Secondly,through the statistical analysis we described that technology progress and skilled labor achieved significantly improvement from the lengthways time,and found that this situation is particularly evident in the third industry.Thus skill may be one of the most important barriers of labor migration among industries.What' among,two-equation dynamic model has been constructed to analyze both relative and absolute effects of technology on the demand of skilled and unskilled labor.GMM-SYS techniques are applied to panel data comprising 30 regions from 2002 to 2013.The results of the study show that skill biased technological progress has happened in China,and innovation activities have a damaging effect on unskilled jobs,but influence coefficient of acquired technical progress on the demand of the unskilled labor though is less than that of skilled labor,but significantly positive.Finally,based on the above research results,this article put forward that China should continue absorbing foreign advanced technology and keep implementing the innovation-driven strategy to grasp the core competitiveness of international competition.Besides,the problem of employment should be also taken in account when developing technology. |
