Analysis And Design Of Spare Parts Logistics For Medium-Sized Construction Machine

The analysis and design of spare parts logistics for a medium-sized constructionmachine enterprise include three main points: inventory network design, demandforecast and inventory management. The most important work of the spare parts inventory network design is theallocation of the warehouse network. In this paper, the p-median allocation model isused to design the network of the center warehouse, whereas the maximal coveringmodel is used to design the network of regional spare parts warehouses. This paper analyzes the factors influencing the spare parts demand, and choosesdifferent forecast methods to forecast the demand of different type of spare parts:the simple method of mean, moving method of mean and exponential smoothingmethod to analyze and forecast the steady demands;the regression analysis method toanalyze and forecast the demand with tendency;the separating factors method toanalyze and forecast the compound demand. For the inventory management, this paper focuses on the concepts of safety stockand service level. With ABC classification and multi-factors classification, theclassified management is put forward. Methods of setting inventory level and safetystock based on the service level are given with the Normal distribution and Poissondistribution theory. The strategies of inventory control, including cases (s, Q), (s, S),(R, S), (R, s, S), (R, s, Q) are developed. Finally, this paper optimizes the after sales spare parts logistic system for PMS.The spare parts warehouse network is redesigned. The forecasting methods of spareparts demand are suggested. A reasonable categorization of spare parts is carried outand the inventory level and safety stock are set accordingly. An inventory controlsystem of spare parts is developed with the proper inventory control strategies.
