Study On The Application Of Combinatiorial Auctions In Transportation Service Procurement

Confronted with the increasing severe challenges of the market competition, the companies pay more attention to transportation and recognize it is inefficient to solely depend on their own fleets, they begin to acquire transportation service through outsourcing. Moreover, the government is gradually releasing governing on transportation industry. All of these factors offer good opportunities for transportation service procurement. As E-commerce is quickly developing, the companies has applied on-line auction to procure transportation service. So as to improve the procurement efficiency and the profitability of the actors, it puts forward the application of combinatorial auction, and studies the key strategies of the actors to achieve the win-win situation.This paper makes use of many analysis methods such as modeling analysis, quantity analysis and comparison analysis. In chapter 2, it begins from the analysis of basic concept for auction and transportation service procurement, introduces primary study on relative fields in recent years. In chapter 3, it analyzes the application advantage of combinatorial auction, and discusses about the feasible combinatorial auction exchange mode, then brings forward the exchange mechanism which is the basis of the combinatorial auction application. In chapter 4, it focus on the actors' strategy and establishes the related models to direct the carriers and the shippers during the process of decision-making. In chapter 5, it uses the quantity and comparison methods to prove the effectiveness of the application, puts forward some practical advices for future study and the maintenance of the mechanism.The paper is a systemic study about the application of the combinatorial auction in transportation procurement, it will be my best pleasure were this study can do some favor for the practice.
