Research Of Vendor Evaluation In Efficient Supply Chain

As the elementary products and service suppliers, vendors are one of thekey elements in a supply chain system. Vendor evaluation plays a veryimportant role in supply chain control, and constructing or reconstructing asupply chain system as well. Furthermore, vendor evaluation helps a lot informing the supply chain competitive capability and improving the wholesupply chain performance. Therefore, vendor selection is becoming one of thehot points in supply chain management research.Different vendor types are identified considering the characteristics ofthe products provided by the supply chain system. On the basis of analyzingthe needs of core enterprises and the characteristics of different types ofsupply chains, an effective supply chain oriented vendor evaluation model isestablished to help solve vendor evaluation problems in effective supply chainmanagement. An effective supply chain oriented vendor evaluation frameworkis included to guide the whole evaluation progress, which is composed ofrelative process view, internal view and external view with the product lifecycle taken into account. A vendor evaluation guideline model and applicationreference model are brought forward and discussed afterwards.The problems faced by the AHP (analytic hierarchy process, AHP) andimproved AHP vendor evaluation methods are pointed out. Then a vendorevaluation synthetic method based on rough set theory is put forward to helpsolve the problems AHP methods meet and more objective proposals areexpected to follow subsequently. A typical evaluation case illustrates theapplication process and proves the correctness and effectiveness in contrastwith the final decision and the suppliers' performance. An effective supplychain oriented vendor selection decision support model is also introduced tohelp select suppliers.According to the requirement of Beijing Shuangquan Yanshan carpetfactory, a purchasing, sales and stock management information systemprototype is developed with the guidance of structured system analysis anddesign methods. Using the efficient supply chain oriented vendor evaluationmodel and the vendor evaluation synthetic methods, a vendor evaluationsubsystem prototype is established in it.
