The enterprises in any market can be divided into three parts: full-line generalists who compete across a range of products and markets, specialists who tend to margin-driven players and the ditch companies. In industry, full-line generalists and specialists have more competitive advantages. However, the former who is the leader in industry is several. To more small and medium-sized businesses, trying to become specialists is a better choice. The SMEs are very important in our national economy. Its value of animating markets, creating job, changing and innovating and stabilizing society has been accepted widly. However, there are many problems in surviving and developing of the SMEs. Thus, in terms of the strategy, specialists and its strategy may have universality to SMEs in our country.The paper centers on characteristic and applicable conditions of specialists' strategy. Based on researching the concept, the characteristic, the classification and decision elements of the strategy, the paper integrates the strategic concept of specialists with the reality of SMEs in our country. In researching, the paper expands the meaning of specialists. And it summarizes seven specialists' strategies which is making different, sustained concentration, closing to customer, controlling the cost,, founding the rampart, breaching zone, maintaining appropriate size, in addition the risks of these strategies.At last, the paper analyzed the reality of SMEs of our country. Connecting with the advantages and the disadvantages, opportunities and threatens, the paper gives suggests, which is dapping ditches, subdividing markets and developing in depth, concentrating, innovating and convey the company position effective, to the SMEs in our country to construct to be specialists.
