With the rapid development of scientific technology and social productive forces, the speed of globalization is being accelerated. However, the economic globalization needs to be put under the control of global regulation. Particularly, in the environment in which the capital enjoys high fluidity, the major economic powers' spillover policies become more obvious. The economic cooperation among them plays an important role in leading the direction of the world economy development. After the collapse of Bretton Woods System in 1970's, most of the countries once acted willfully in the "non-system system". Since the first conference of the Group of Seven held in France in 1975, the major economic powers began to establish a coordination system, which developed into the Group of Seven later. The Group of Seven is referred to the economic and political forum of seven countries as following: the USA, Japan, German, France, Britain, Italy and Canada, which are considered as the most developed industrialized countries in the whole world. As a matter of fact, in the terms of form, it is a kind of international conference system. Until now, it has become a place where the seven major western industrialized countries hold dialogues and make coordination. At the very beginning, its theme was mainly in the world economic field and aimed at establishing an effective international economic coordination regime. Before long, the organization also put some global affairs on its agenda, including some significant events in the world. Along the thirty years after its foundation, it carries on muti-national policy coordination in both world political and economic fields. For example, in the political field, it made some decisive actions in the Kosovo War and the war expense. It can easily find sound proof in the case of the famous PLAZA ACCORD as well as the help to solve the East Asian financial crisis. The Group of Seven is the main regime used by the developed nations to coordinate international short-term economic policies. Regime can be defined as a set of explicit or implicit principles, rules and decision-making procedures in a given international relationship field, which is considered as the core of expectations of different subjects. This thesis is to talk about the international economic coordination regime of theGroup of Seven. In the thesis, the author tries to give a clear definition of the internal political theory of the international regime and describes its weak points. On the basis of analyzing the issues mentioned above, the author establishes his own pattern, say, preference + the form of interaction among nations effects. To do some analysis on the pattern, the thesis also takes the two typical examples of PLAZA ACCORD and LOURE ACCORD, which played an effective and implacable role in the international coordination field in the middle 1980's. The whole thesis can be divided into five parts:The introduction mainly is to introduce the premise issues of the texts, which include present researches on the international coordination regime of the Group of Seven in both the national and foreign academic circles, the definitions of the international regime, the international coordination and the international economic coordination regime. The first part makes a brief illustration about the international economic coordination regime of the Group of Seven, including the basic characteristics of the regime, its formation, development and operation regime and so on.The second part demonstrates the three theories of international politics, including Neo-realism, Neo-liberalism and Constructivism and tries to elaborate the related theories about the international economic coordination regime of the Group of Seven. In this part, the author holds that those theories mentioned above share a shortage, say, the neglect of the domestic condition of the nations and generally sets up his own analysis pattern with the combination of Preference theory and Game theory. In the third part, the author enriches and perfects the his analysis pattern by making an analysis on the PLAZA ACCORD and LOURE ACCORD from 1985 to 1987 in terms of its operating situation of the coordination regime. The last part gives a brief summary. On the basis of the analysis pattern, the author tries to give a description about the prospect of the regime as well as the function, shortages and the improvement tendency of it.In brief, through the analysis on the political function of the international economic coordination regime of the Group of Seven, the thesis tries to prove this regime in a new perspective.
