The Spatial Deprivation In The Development Of County Economy In The Central Area Of Jilin Province

The development of county economy is a pivotal issue for the solution of agricultural country and peasantry problems in China. The traditional research about county economy are always only focus on the inner factors of a county, ignoring the relationship between core-urban and county economy. This paper takes the central area of Jilin province as a research example and follows the models of growth pole and core-peripheral theories in order to analyze the development of county economy and the spatial deprivation. On the basis of relationship between core-urban and county economy, this paper illustrates that spatial deprivation is the specific feature of regional relation in the given stage, and then researches the mechanism and factors of spatial deprivation.Under the guidance of interrelated theories in regional economics and economic geography, this paper analyzes the regional development through regional relations. The spatial deprivation in county economy is a kind of vertical relationships between regions, and is the result of economic rules and social institutions. It has negative impacts on the ability of county economy to compete with core-urban. The central area of Jilin province is a typical region about the spatial deprivation, so to analyze this effect has some practical meaning for its development.There are four parts in this paper except the introduction and conclusion.In the first part, this paper studies the economic features of central area in Jilin province with different indicators and methods, denoting that spatial deprivation is a real relationship between core-urban and county economy in this region.The second part is about the mechanism of spatial deprivation. The author illustrates it in three aspects. The transfer of economic factors from county economy to core-urban is the basic aspect, and this kind of transfer has a self-strengthen effect. Social institution, especially the administrative institutions also make some contributions to the spatial deprivation, and strengthen the results under economic rules and the negative impacts on county economy. At last, the industrial competition between core-urban and county economy has negative impacts on the development of county economy.Analyzing the factors of spatial deprivation is the theme of the third part. To some extent, the distance, economic scale and industrial composition have some impact on the intensity of spatial deprivation.In the last part, the paper makes some suggestions for the development of county economy under the impact of spatial deprivation.
