At present the economic gap of East-West region in China is still very wide, and it moreover has the tendency which continues to expand. This is violating the concept of scientific development and is deviating from the request of building a well-off society in an all round way. However, we should not narrow the economic gap by developing the economy of the west at the cost of the benefit of the east. As a result, the new idea of cooperation of the east and the west comes into being which shows that the east and the west can both achieve win-win & mutual benefit by means of cooperation in many fields such as economy, technology etc. Under the help of GIS technology and econometric models, this article takes three zones, nine regions and thirty- one provinces as the study area, analyzes the inner mechanism and model of the economic cooperation between the east and the west according to labor migration research which is an important economic factor in the economic cooperation of East-West region. This thesis is organized as follows:In chapter 1, Introduction puts forward the study value. According to the relative study background at home and abroad, there is little analysis, especially the quantitative analysis, on the economic cooperation of the east and the west from an aspect of labor migration. So this article studies the drive mechanism of East-West labor migration using econometric model in order to find a suitable model for promoting the economic cooperation of the east and the west in china. This topic has important signification in theory and practice. In chapter 2, Data and study area are discussed. Then the estimation method of migration labor is introduced and the technology route and framework design are also shown. In chapter 3, Based on GIS technology and spatial interaction theory, this paper analyzes the flux, direction and distance to reveal the time-space characters of the labor migration between the east and the west in China since the year of 1985.In chapter 4, using the method of correlation analysis and regression analysis, this article firstly studies the labor migration characteristics of every factor respectively during three time periods. The results indicate that labor migration mainly happens between the regions which have similarity in habitat and economy level and the regions with healthier habitat and higher economy level are more attractive for the immigration. Then, in order to discuss the drive mechanism more deeply, we establish several econometric models to study how economy factors, habitat factors and society factors affect labor migration respectively. Finally, the conclusions are drawn that the distance is an important factor that hampers labor migration and the effects are becoming stronger. Where economy factors are concerned, per capita GDP, income and market potentiality are positive correlation with labor migration while the ratio of third industry to GDP in the ingoing areas , unemployment rate and average wage are negative correlation with labor migration. With regard to habitat factors, average precipitation , NDVI, plow regimentation and average temperature are positive correlation with labor migration while per land area and altitude are negative correlation with labor migration. Concerning society factors, foreign direct investment and labor migration in the period before are negative correlation with labor migration. Generally speaking, economy factors are the main inner drive of the present labor migration in China, however, the influence of habitat factors is also strengthening. In chapter 5, Firstly, this article discusses how labor migration narrows the...
