Study On Competitiveness Of Securities Firms In China

According to WTO Agreement, our security industry will be open to the outside of the world step by step. So far five years have passed. Our securities firms will face severe challenges of foreign competitors. Can they live in this complicity situation? It is important to study competitiveness of our securities firms and take active measures to improve it.At the beginning of this thesis, according to enterprise competitiveness theory in western countries and recent study in China, it builds up study system of securities firms' competitiveness: environment factor, resource factor, capability factor and mechanism factor. Then based on this study system, on one hand, it uses factor analysis to appraise our securities firms' competitiveness to find out key factors and know exact position of individual firms in our securities industry;on the other hand, it uses cluster analysis to sort our securities firms' competitiveness to find out their differences. Furthermore, it moves to the most important part of this thesis. According to this study system, it compares our securities firms' competitiveness with American's by using Michael Potter's model of industry's competition structure and all kinds of charts, which is to find out the distance between them and know the exact position of our security industry in the world. Finally, according to opportunities and threatens, advantages and disadvantages of our securities firms which we have studied in the front, it builds up SWOT model and proposes methods to improve our securities firms' competitiveness: scale expanding, internationalization, collectivization, standardization, operational innovation and internal mechanism improving.
