Shaanxi Industrial Competitiveness Evaluation Study

Market economy is a competitive economy. Competition is the contest of competitive ability. How to cultivate the competitive advantage and promote competitiveness in the competition environment becomes the continuous pursuit of competitive main body. Industry is the leading part of economy which promotes the development of economic, and it is the foundation of economic development in a country or an area. And also it is the basis that strengthens the synthesis competitiveness. Therefore, from a view of a regional economic development, the crucial question is to promote its own industry and the direct performance is the promotion of its own regional industrial competitiveness.The industry of Shaanxi has always occupied the important status in the whole national economy. The economic development of Shaanxi depends on its industry's impetus and guidance. The industry which has its competitiveness is a key factor to the development of Shaanxi. On turning point of the country deploying the new industrialized path, how to scientifically examine and accurately estimate the industry's competitiveness of Shaanxi has became an imminent question that advances the industrialization and modernization.Therefore, this paper uses the positive analytic method and makes great effort to use data explaining the question. After delimiting the local industry competitiveness, the appraisal system is built on three aspects and 33 concrete criteria respecting to the industry reality competitiveness, potential competitiveness and the environmental competitiveness. Using the main factor analytic method to compare the synthesis score of Shaanxi with other provinces, we draw the following conclusions: Firstly, the whole industry competitiveness of Shaanxi is in the medium level in our country. Secondly, the industry scale influence is lower, which lies in the production efficiency of the industrial enterprises, the resource disposition and management level. Thirdly, the industry potential competitiveness is not strong enough, which can be seen from the industrial financing ability, the independent innovation and the new achievement transformation ability. Fourth, the environmental competitiveness is not ideal too. It is the governmental influence that draws the score of environmental competitiveness, but the consumption of industrial energy resources level is high, and the influence of industrial development on the ecological environment is great.The innovation of this paper lies in these aspects. On the basis of referring to other studies, the main factor analytic operation steps is used from three aspects: the industrial reality competitiveness, the potential competition strength and the environmental competitiveness to compare the industry competitiveness of Shaanxi with other provinces, and the status and the restriction factors of Shaanxi industry is found. This is not noticeable on concerning the industry competitiveness research of Shaanxi.
