Foreign trade is the important motive force of China's economic development. Since China formally joined WTO on December 11, 2001, the commercial system environment of our country has been obviously improved; foreign trade grows at fast speed, and become the third biggest trade nation in the world. The favorable trade balance is expanded year after year, and China has the biggest global foreign exchange reserve. At the same time, China absorbed the direct foreign investment in a large amount, external foreign cooperation grows vigorously. The system of market economy is basically set up; the big trading nation's status has been established. However, trade frictions followed increase, the foreign trade economic benefits are low, the environment cacophony is outstanding day by day.This paper will adopt theory analysis and empirical tests, through analysis several main respects, such as the trade scale and structure, degree of dependence on foreign trade, terms of trade, and industry competitiveness, etc. Analyzing our country overall trade changes when entering the WTO, and then pursue the best route of continuable development of foreign trade, give advice in order to realize the goal of powerful country of commerce.This paper divides chapter six together. Chapter one is a preface part; mainly discuss the research meaning and the whole thinking. Chapter two tp chapter five is separately concrete measure several main respects. Chapter two mainly investigates the overall scale and structural change of the goods trade and service trade, make a concrete analysis of the structure of market and variation tendency. Chapter three analyzes the degree of foreign trade depended on and investigates the concrete reasons of rise. Fourth specially expounds the terms of trade variation tendency. Chapter five discusses the change state of industry' s competitiveness and inherent variation tendency since China entering the WTO.
