3D laser scanning technology provides a complete new method to obtain spatialinformation for its high accuracy and efficiency. Points cloud3D reconstructiontechnology becomes mature day by day with the continuous study and development ofmodern computer technology. Using ground3D laser scanner to obtain buildings’points cloud data and3D reconstruct, which is of extensive application prospects, quickly becomes research hotspots in reverse engineering, ancient building relicsprotecting and digital city, etc. However, many technology problems need to be solvedurgently for the3D model reconstruction technology of buildings obtained by ground3D laser scanning is under a rapid development stage. In the reconstructing ofcomplex buildings, we need to solve the model reconstruction of complex detailedsructure to recover its appearance model truthfully and completely. In this paper, we choose the points cloud obtained by ground laser scanner ofXuzhou Ximatai Fengyun pavilion as subject. By deep reserching in points cloud datastreamline compression and surface reconstruction method of target, we put forwardcross section data streamlining and triangle grid rebuilding algorithm based oncharacter layered optimization, to streamline points cloud data and appearancereconstruction of complex points cloud structure. With above research, we can obtain more streamlined points cloud data toimprove data progressing efficiency and a better appearance reconstruction effect oftarget buildings with complex structur. After obtaining appearance model of XuzhouXimatai Fengyun pavillion by above method, we are able to extract its characteristiclines, elevation, profile and so on, which can be used in buildings data preservationand renovation.
