The three algaes in Grateloupia collected from Hainan, Qingdao and Dalian, weconducted a detailed classification and identification, based on method of combining themorphological observation and molecular system analysis, clarified the taxonomic status ofthe three red algae, and concluded as follows:(1) A kind of red algae was collected from Hainan Lingshui Village, has the followingcharacteristics: thalli is linear, slippery and cartilaginous in texture; main axes and branchesare relatively slight, twice or thrice dichotomous branches; the medulla is solid when young, but hollow in old branches; reproductive structures dispersed in main axes of thalli and thelower portions of the branchlets; representative Grateloupia-type auxiliary cell ampullae.Based on rbcL gene and UPA gene, constructed phylogenetic tree, the four samples of algaeform an independent branch, and positioned in a large Grateloupia clade of the familyHalymeniaceae, and sequence differences of intraspecific with other species is much greaterthan the difference of1%. According to the result of morphology and molecular analysis, wecan distinguish with other species in this genus, and identified as a new species, and is definedas Grateloupia tenuis H. W. Wang et R. X. Luan sp. nov.(2) A kind of red algae was collected from Lu Xun Park, Qingdao, Shandong Province, has the following characteristics: thalli is deep purple or dark brown; slimy and cartilaginousin texture; main axes is compressed, with irregular pinnate branch, and they have manybranchlets; representative Grateloupia-type auxiliary cell ampullae. Based on rbcL gene andUPA gene, constructed phylogenetic tree, the four samples of algae form an independentbranch, and positioned in a large Grateloupia clade of the family Halymeniaceae, andsequence differences of intraspecific with other species is much greater than the difference of1%. According to the result of morphology and molecular analysis, we can distinguish withother species in this genus, and identified as a new species, and is (temporarily) defined asGrateloupia serra H. W. Wang et L. Yu sp. nov.(3) A kind of red algae was collected from Hei Shijiao, Dalian, Liaoning Province, hasthe following characteristics: thalli solitary, deep purple or dark maroon; thalli is compressedand leafy, soft in texture; blade edge with different length of branchlets, branchlets arelanceolate or fusiform; representative Grateloupia-type auxiliary cell ampullae. Based onrbcL gene constructed phylogenetic tree, they form an independent branch, and positioned in a large Grateloupia clade of the family Halymeniaceae; based on UPA gene constructedphylogenetic tree, they form an independent branch, and positioned in a large Grateloupiaclade of the family Halymeniaceae, but can not identify their relatives. Thus, its exacttaxonomic status still needs further study and evaluation. According to the results ofmorphological and molecular analyzes, temporarily identified it as a new species, and is(temporarily) defined as Grateloupia lancifolia H. W. Wang et L. Yu sp. nov.
