Mathematical symbols can improve the calculation efficiency, better help people inmathematics learning and communicating, make ratiocination and problem be more accurate,more concise and clear, with the speed up the calculation, simplify the problem, clear thefunction of the reasoning process. Study math problems one approach is to understand themeaning of mathematical symbols, the flexible use of mathematical symbols. In this way, canmore effectively outlines from the actual problem, the relationship between the variables ofmathematical symbols to represent. Mathematical symbols represent quantitative relation andthe change rule, is an abstract method further that internal connection problems. Themathematical symbol also has invented and created the role of mathematical theorems andmethods. In different stage of mathematics teaching material, clear mathematical symbols aregeneral specific meaning, which always is closely related to the development of their history.Therefore, not only for the specific meaning and essence of mathematical symbols is studied,also pay attention to the origin and development of mathematical symbols. In order to understand moreaccurately, application of mathematical symbols effectively strengthen calculated usingsymbols, should be the historical significance for further study of mathematical symbols. Bystudying the creation and development of mathematical symbols, if people can properlysimplified symbols, the relationship between concepts of the use of mathematical symbols canbe found easily from the complex mathematical problems, summed up the simple changeprocess, and reveal the essence of concept.
