With the development of wireless networks (including WiFi, GPRS and GSM) andGlobal Positioning System technology, the emergence of mobile devices such as smartphones, vehicle-bone mobile terminal and PDA, and the lower and lower price creates agood environment for mobile applications of geographic information. Therefore, more andmore users have been seeking useful location-based services and applications. At present,the mobile spatial information services, especially "location-based services” supported bythe mobile devices that integrate GPS have become a research hotspot of geographicinformation services. This paper studied geographic information map service andlocation-based service in mobile environment, and established the prototype systemaccording to actual demands. Contents and conclusions of the paper are as follows:(1) WMS construction and Mobile SVG map visualization technology. Based onlearning the WMS specification and Mobile SVG specification, the author researches theWMS construction in mobile GIS and Mobile SVG map visualization. WMS Constructionincludes the construction of server-side and the construction of the mobile terminal.Construction of the server-side includes the generation of WMS service descriptiondocument, and the map drawing based on GDI+.With the WMS construction of mobileterminals, the author main studies the J2ME technology, communication between mobileterminals and t server, and implementation of WMS map services in mobile terminal. Withthe Mobile SVG map visualization, the author studies the framework of visualization,Mobile SVG file access and annotation of linear features.(2) Mobile SVG system based on WMS and Mobile SVG. On the basis of learning theWMS Construction in Mobile GIS and Mobile SVG map visualization, the author proposesthe design of Mobile GIS system architecture and network architecture, divides systemfunction modules in detail, and make a detailed analysis and design to the display layer, theconversion between geographical coordinates and screen coordinates, map Visualization,location-based services and dynamic display of a detailed trajectory.(3) Mobile GIS application demonstration. On the basis of map visualization, themobile terminal interacted with the server through certain request parameters to get trackdata, and displayed the history path in the mobile terminal through the coordinate conversion. Finally, taking mobile application of Fuzhou sediment vehicle as an example,the author implemented user interaction with WMS through the dynamic display of vehicletrack, and provided new services.
