The working environments affect the design of the optical system. The infraredseeker optical system works through the temperature of-40to60. The imagequality varies as to the temperature. In order to improve the reliability ofthe optical system, we need to take Thermal/Structure/Optical (TSO) evaluationprocess. The optical design of systems for use in water is different from others. The main reason is that the refractive of water is different from the refractiveindex of air.In this paper, in order to introduce the Finite Element Analysis in opticalsystem, we take the Infrared seeker optical system and the underwater lensesas examples. Then, we talk about how the temperature and the pressure influencethe optical system in theory. At last, we make analysis of the Infrared seekeroptical system and the underwater lenses.First, we designed a new Infrared seeker optical system according to thecharacteristics of material and the optical power distribution. Besides, weanalyze how the temperature influence the optical system and we obtain thenecessity of athermal design. Then, we design two underwater lenses withdifferent water-lens interface and analyze the influence of pressure. Fromthe analysis we know that make resistance design of the underwater lenses. At last, we made preliminary analysis of the typical Infrared optical system. We design the flexible elements based on the sensitivity analysis, which gotthat the flexible elements can reduce the contact stress of the lens and makesthe choice of the lens sear materials more easily.
