With the rapid development of the global economy and technology, people’s living standard has been improved, but also brought striking damage to the ecological environment for the survival of humans. Because human has overused and destoryed the environment, our country geology disaster is very frequent in recent years, seriously impact on people’s well-being and social harmony and sustainable development. Now, the environment problem has become a hot topic of common concern in the world. In the face of geological disasters occur frequently, at the same time, with the development of computer technology and network communication technology, there are a lot of monitoring system and platform of geological disasters. However, geological disaster monitoring is a long-term process, production data process of geological disaster monitoring is continuous,the monitoring data is dynamic, the amount of data is huge, various types, different acquisition mode, will caused the observed differences in data format and storage etc.At present, there are many scientific research institutions and State Key Laboratory in our country, which spend a lot of manpower and financial resources to collecting real-time data and save these monitoring data in the respective database, through a variety of advanced methods. The complexity of management and access these data sets has become the mostprominent problem for data owners and users. Data producers need effective data management and maintenance; users need to find comprehensive and effective methods to more faster find, access, and use data resources. To solve these problems, we need to adopt a unified scientific method for registering monitoring data in DO A, according to the characteristics of data resource to define the contents of registration, from origin, characteristics, data format, use and access to describe the data resource. These content is metadata, need to develop a unified data registered metadata standard or specification in a certain specialized field. Users through the metadata to access and browse data, not only can know where to find the required data, and know the content of the data and how to use them.The research content of this paper, through analyzing the features and classification of geological hazard monitoring data, and according to its own characteristics, reference international and our country about geographical information metadata standards, is designed a kind metadata specification for geological disaster monitoring data. To realize the preliminary application in geological hazard the information platform,the platform is based on DO A. The main contents are as follows:(1) Analysis the geological disaster monitoring dataFrom many aspects to analyzing the data of geological disaster monitoring, summarizing its characteristics and classification, which provided the foundation to the design of metadata standard for geological disaster monitoring data.(2) Design the metadata specification of geological disaster monitoring dataBased on function and composition of the metadata to design the contents of metadata, which consists of ten aspects:metadata, data identification, data distribution, space, responsible department, data quality, location, project and method, these ten information corresponding to the ten subsets of data, there are seven main subsets and three optional subset. Each data set have an entity (or several entities) and elements, each entity by entity and element or elements composed of elements, the element is the smallest unit of metadata structure, they amply describe the specific content and organization of the specification. Therefore, the author constructs a framework of metadata for data monitoring of geological disasters, the design of metadata standard.(3) Realization and preliminary application the metadata specification of geological disaster monitoring data.Realization the geological disaster monitoring data of the metadata specification, is very crucial step in the process of the specification. The XML Schema document, provided the format that should be observed by metadata, specified the metadata structure allowed to be use.This paper designed metadata specification, is geological hazards monitoring data, applied to the geological disaster information management platform that based on the DOA. To preliminary realize that, the geological disaster monitoring data are unified managed and shared, provide better data service for users.The main achievements and innovation points of this paper:(1) Designed a metadata specification of geological disaster monitoring data in DOA, provided unified registration for owner, and offered unified service for user.(2) The metadata specification of geological disaster monitoring data, apply to the geological disaster information management platform, the platform is based on DOA. To preliminary realize that, the geological disaster monitoring data has unified managed and shared, provided better data service for users.(3) Put forward a metadata specification of geological disasters monitoring data in DOA. According to the classification, characteristic and actual demand of geological disaster monitoring data, around the viewpoint of DOA:"oriented data and data as the core". To designed and implemented a kind of metadata specification of geological disaster monitoring data in DOA, provided unified data management and sharing service better for users.(4) Put forward a implementation method based on XML Schema, for metadata specification of geological disasters monitoring data. The XML Schema document, provided the format that should be observed by metadata, specified the metadata structure allowed to be use.
