Research On Down-hole TV Logging System

At the cutting edge logging technology, Down-hole TV Logging technology has the widespread application because of the simplification in content, visualization in data, and wellunderstood in status. Downhole TV logging technique captures borehole images by downholecamera and can be applied to well casing inspection, downhole fishing, downhole completionquality inspection, etc. This paper is primarily concerned with the research of the imagingsystem, log data transfer system, and seal protection system.The imaging system based on the CMOS image sensors, realizes the data acquisition andprocessing of the downhole TV image, which includes the control of downhole camera, videocapturing and compression, and serial communication. It also finishes connecting work withlogging cable telemetry system by using flexible compression technologies and image formats.Because the surroundings in which the downhole TV is placed are very dark and there is aself-made illumination device using the LED arrays; During the hardware circuit design, theelectronic components need such materials as can bear high temperature and pressure, andadopting DSP+CPLD design, the proposed system architecture can realize the commandparsing, video signal sampling and controlling, data uploading and so on; Based on the resultof the previous studies, the structure and the technical parameters of vacuum flask anddownhole TV in containment and protection system are designed in this paper. And this paperalso discusses the overall design of the system hardware and software development process,Second, for each functional module and a number of key technology design and developmentwork.In this paper, the construction of Down-hole TV Logging System, the long-distance datatransmission, and the sensitivity of the instruments are the most important considerations.Through theoretical analysis, many debug and test results show that the Down-hole TVLogging System can realize the data acquisition, processing, and communication of thedownhole TV image.
