Oil and gas is known as "the blood of industry", which is the strategic resource for a country and the most important energy and the most necessary chemical raw materials in modern times. As the growth of the years of oil and gas field development, there are many complex problems in the most of the oil and gas fields in China, such as casing corrosion,pipeline scaling, fish jams, and pipeline leakage and so on. Visible light imaging logging technology can obtain intuitive downhole image information and has a strong use value in the casing corrosion and the salvage of the falling objects, which is of great significance to improve the exploitation of oil and gas.This paper develops the idea of storage type downhole video imaging logging tool based on CAN bus digital transmission by investigating and researching, and formulates relevant technical indicators based on the special environment requirements of the workover operation. The logging tool overcomes the external disturbance existing in the analog transmission system, such as borehole wall scaling and wax, and be able to store the images of the downhole information to guarantee the image information complete, improve the efficiency of workover and save the cost.At first, this paper outlines the overall scheme of the storage type video imaging logging system, introduces the working principle of the whole system and analyses the key technology and solution. The composition of the hardware circuit is introduced according to the system requirements, such as the power supply circuit, C8051F040 minimum system circuit, FLASH storage circuit, CMOS camera serial communication circuit, CAN bus interface circuit and JTAG interface circuit and so on. Then the software system of the tool is designed including upper machine and lower machine. The software of the upper machine uses Visual Studio 2010 as the development environmen, the software includes serial port settings, configuration of camera parameters, command control, image display,and other functions. Besides, it can be set the image parameters according to actual needs,and can provide the collected image information. The program of the lower machine uses Keil as the development environment, which mainly includes the UART serial port communication, FLASH storage operation and CAN communication interface transmission,to realize the collection, storage and transmission of images.Finally, the system has been tested and the experiment get the clear casing image,which can be used for casing testing, auxiliary fishing of the downhole falling object,casing pipe descaling and checking the effect of underground work, etc. The research can obviously reduce the maintenance and replacement cost of the oil and gas wells and shorten the time of workover operation.
