With the development of urbanization, underground pipelines problems, called as the "lifeline" of city, has become a hot issue of digital urban construction. It is much significant for for normal production and life of people and social development to manage well the underground pipelines with information. In order to achieve the real "Digital Earth" and "Digital City", the spatial information has to display from the original static to dynamic transition, and the presentation of information has to develop from2D to3D, which is able to realize the abundant, direct and detailed3D senses.According to the above the background, the article researches many literatures and uses the method of comparing researches related to the actual engineer, based on the study with a lot of construction conditions of3D underground pipelines system domestic and overseas. Then it uses virtual reality, visualization, spatial analysis, GIS and database technology and other IT methods to integrating the secondary development based on the principle of practical convenience、sophisticated、 flexible、 safe、 reliable and highly scalable. The achievement of the3D underground pipelines system is designed based on actual needs, which mainly includes the total design and the realizing the basic functions of the system and the case analysis.Through on the study of theory, this article uses the lab data of somewhere in Shannan New Area at Huainan, based on the Skyline platform, this paper develop the3D underground pipelines information management system, which is able to represent the3D underground pipelines、roaming, information, terrain excavation and analysis of burst pipes and other functions. This is just a simple exploration and try of the construction of3D underground pipelines system.
