With the increasing demand of mineral resources in our country, we need to go overseas to exploration and development. In response to the "going out" strategy of China’s mineral resources development, the Tianjin North China Geological Prospecting Bureau has actively carried out overseas mineral exploration and development work, and has made remarkable achievements. In 2012, the Tianjin North China Geological Exploration Bureau to undertake a geological survey project SEMHKAT Katanga province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo(DRC), including LUSANUO copper and cobalt mining area, including 28 prospecting right to carry out prospecting work. The LUSANUO mining area is located in Congo craton through northeast, is located in Katanga external fold nappe belt of South Central, located in the world famous Congo(DRC)- Zambian copper belt. In the work area, surface exploration found that the presence of copper and cobalt mineralization, through a comprehensive system of exploration, is expected to achieve a breakthrough in the short term.This paper is based on the geological background. In LUSANUO copper and cobalt mining area. Through the comprehensive system of rock(mine) stone physical property measurement and analysis, high precision magnetic survey and excited polarization method; the qualitative analysis of data and quantitative analysis, to carry out metallogenic prediction research to delineate key prospecting target area; focus on the nature of the abnormality; using electrical sounding, identify the morphology of anomalous deep; to carry out drilling engineering, find out the abnormal mineralization. Establish a working area of the prospecting model, guiding the deep prospecting work.Through field survey and comprehensive research work, the following results and understanding are obtained:(1) The exploration of LUSANUO mining area mainly completed the high precision magnetic method to measure 40km2, completed the excitation polarization method to measure 60km2, completed the electrical sounding measurement 8 points. The workload of the design is completed, the quality of the design and specification of the requirements, the original data obtained is true and reliable, the inference results are clear and accurate.(2) By high precision magnetic survey established the three-dimensional geological model, to identify the linear structure of the distribution and deep rock mass invasion: formation of uplift in the north and south sides, formed in the middle part of the broken belt later invaded the basic- ultrabasic rocks; tectonic fissures ore bearing hydrothermal invasion, and in lots of local enrichment of iron oxides. Excited polarization method is used to divide the 8 key abnormal, and analyses the relationship between the anomaly and the tectonics, iron oxide, sedimentary reformation type copper and cobalt, provide the basis for prospecting.(3) Summarize the prospecting criteria, and put forward the idea of "using the fault structure as the line, looking for the favorable node". Through the study of metallogenic prognosis, delineated the key prospecting target area 1. By electric sounding, the depth of IP3 and IP4 anomalies were found out. The copper cobalt ore bodies were found by drilling and the resources were estimated. Get nearly 150 thousand tons of copper resources.
