Application Of The Pulsed Neutron Oxygen Activation Logging In Liaohe Oilfield

Waterflooding is widely used in middle and later periods of oil field development such as Liaohe Oil Field. The injection profile logging has been introduced to determine the injection volume and position. In the present logging technique, tracer logging utilized the radioactive isotope affected by many factors, while the other principle including spinner flowmeter, ultrasonic flowmeter, Electromagnetic flowmeter etc. cannot inspect flow beyond tubing. In recent years Pulsed Neutron Oxygen Activation Logging technique is widely used, for its ability of measuring the upstream or downstream flow rate both in tubing or the annulus between tubing and casing. This dissertation studies the field operation and answer products of newly introduced oxygen activation logging tool on a basis of practical field services.This article depicts the oxygen activation tools design, specifications and mechanism; besides, make comparison with other type tools. Relative technique for different injection circumstances, including commingled positive/annulus injection, tubing&annulaus injection, single tubing&multi-tubing well injection are investigated. Lots efforts are exerted on researches of interpretation model establishing, peak picking, peak spotting in dual casing environment, carbon dioxide(CO2) driving interpretation etc. Consequently, a suitable interpretation model is developed meanwhile a corresponding data processing and interpretation software is developed on the basis of amounts of field experimentsThrough the studies, an applicable operation procedure is established. A corresponding self-developed data processing and interpretation platform combines the conventional interpretation methods as well as spectrum peak picking, carbon dioxide driving methods. Currently the oxygen activation logging tools are put into practical service in Liaohe Oil Field which give good application results.
