Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) logging technology was one of the greatest technology advances of the world logging industry in the 1990s. It was establishedbased on completely new reservoir response functions, which is of apparent technology characteristics. It provides new ideas and methods for the problems that many conventional loggings can't solve in practical applications. Since the advanced modern NMR logging equipments were introduced in China in the 1990s it had got considerable effects in Chinese gaint oil companies and brought good profits from the application of it. However, this technology has been far from perfect, and there are many difficult problems which need to be worked over in practical applications.If problems not solved, they would hinder the use of the new technology in China.Study on the theory of NMR, designing before logging, supervision for the data collection, data processing through the DPP, rectification on borehole environment and the effectiveness of application of MRIL-Prime in the Liaohe oilfield, and provide a new algorithm. Deigning before logging needs the accurate field parameters provided by the geological engineers and the NMR parameters of oil, gas and water offered by the experimenters, which will affect the effectiveness of identification of the oil, gas and water. In order to ensure the reliability of the data collection, it is necessary to do the quality supervision during the process of logging. As the same way, to guaranty the validity of interpretation, it is necessary to rectify the borehole environment. The application of MRIL-Prime is extensive, such as the gas reservoir, thin oil reservoir, heavy oil reservoir and the water reservoir, and the effectiveness is better in the oil and water reservoir than the gas reservoir. It demonstrates that the new SIRT algorithm is better compared with the MAPII algorithm, through the application of real MRIL-Prime data. The T2 spectrum of the SIRT algorithm, which adopts 16—64 dots between 0.3—3000ms, has a better resolution and more clearly reflects the distribution pattern of the bore diameter in the rock.The new SIRT algorithm can substitute for the MAPII algorithm to interpret MRIL-Prime data, if further improving it.
