With the development of the exploration and exploitation of the oil field, the increasing demand for well logging technology comes from discovery and development of complex oil & gas fields especially subtle hydrocarbon reservoirs. The cross multipole array acoustic logging has superiority of calculation of the porosity and permeability, fulid identification, calculation of rock mechanic parameters, research of anisotropy over the normal acoustic logging, this logging technoloy has been widely promoted and applied in oil field. This logging gradually becomes necessary service in key areas and complex formation. Due to its expensive price, the amout of imported cross multipole array acoustic logging tools are so scarce. And such a small number of this tool couldn’t meet the requirement of the actual production. So it is very necessary and urgent to develop and manufacture the cross multipole array acoustic logging tool.After thoroughly analyzing and studying the principle of the cross multipole array acoustic logging, the author and his team carried out the development of the main hardwares, designed and manufactured one kind of cross multipole array acoustic logging tool(CMAC) by using advanced electronic technology and state of the art.During the manufacturing process, the author proposed and realized the following work: designed and accomplished the multipole array mechanical structure with high reliability both for transmitters and receivers. Implemented the signal receive preamplifier circuit by using the thick film circuit technology, effectively reduced the circuit size, the circuit became more reliable and modular. Realized ultra-high-speed multi-channel data acquisition, processing, effectively enhance the efficiency of data transmission and save logging time. Developed and manufactured the isolator sub with high bandwidth, low anti-rotation angle, high mechanical strength, whose sound insulation and mechanical strength is much better than the other similar products. The testing results for this tool from the standard well and different production wells show that this tool is capable, stable and reliable.The acquisition data meet the data quality control standards. The tool has a very good consistency compared with some similar advanced tool.This tool will play an important role in the oil and gas field development.Many practical examples show that this tool can solve complex reservoir problem and has good prospects. It will be sure that this tool can reduce the oil discovery cost and improve the efficiency of exploration.
