The northern region of Minfeng is located in the northeast of Dongying depression,the hydrocarbon reservoirs enclosed by properties of Glutenite fan have been found in the Upper Es4 formation. In order to guide the exploration of stratigraphic reservoir traps in the study area better, it’s necessary to introduce the new techniques and methods of studying the sedimentary facies. As a new developing interdisciplinary subject,the applicability of Seismic sedimentology in the study area needs to be clarified. This paper discussed the application of related technology on seismic sedimentology in the present study area which is based on isochronous stratigraphic framework using sequence stratigraphy and be controlled by conventional studies of sedimentary facies and under the guidance of geological rules.We carried out the studies of seismic sedimentary of the Upper Es4 in the study area by the working methods of combining well with seismic using well logging, seismic, core and other basic information,and received the following understanding;Under the guidance of the thought of the classic sequence stratigraphy and high-resolution sequence stratigraphy,it can be found that the Upper Es4 formation is a three-order sequence which includes five fourth-order sequences.All of the four-order sequences developed base level rise hemicycle, the Upper Es4 is totally a large positive cycle which is consisted of five positive cycles.Under the guidance of Walther facies rule and the working methods of "single well, profiles, plane".We have discovered that the nearshore subaqueous fans in the study area mainly occur near the Chennan fault, the single fan takes the shape of fan,a plurality of leagues of fan show the crony shape in the plane; Longitudinally,the multi-stage stacked fan body retrograded gradually towards the source area of Chenjiazhuang. Lacustrine facies are mainly located in the south of the study area, the water area gradually expanded longitudinally.The thickness of slump turbidite fan is thinner,and the developing scale is smaller in the plane which is mainly located in the front of the fan body of nearshore subaqueous fan.Through the application of the 90° phase shift,strata slicing, frequency division interpretation,waveform classification, multi-attribute fusion and other technologies in the study of seismic sedimentology,it can be found that the application effect of the technologies above is good in the study area, and has some applicability. Theoretical methods of seismic sedimentology can provide a reference for the exploration of lithologic-stratigraphic trap in the study area.
