In actual production, from the safety aspect, the hands, particularly, the fingers are the highest rate of human body parts that injured. International statistics show that, if we class the occupational accidents according to the injured area, the hands injuries account for about 25%. China’s industrial team is very large, because the means of labor protection are not yet universal, the hands injury would increase. In actual production, we cannot improve the working conditions in a moment. So, the uses of hand protection products, in particular, protective gloves to prevent hand injury become important complementary measures. Hands are prone to cuts, so the cut resistant gloves develop very rapidly. In daily life, the importance of cut resistant gloves increase, the level of cut resistant gloves is been chosen as an important criterion. There are three kinds of cut resistant performance standards for cut resistant gloves (European standard EN388, American standard ASTM F-1790 and international standard ISO13997). This thesis studies several parameters which influent the properties of cut resistant gloves under the European standard EN388. Meanwhile, comparing with the results of another standard (American standard ASTM F-1790), we analysis various parameters. But in view of the problems lies on the EN388 standard itself that be found before the study. It is necessary to conduct a study on the EN388 standard itself. Therefore, this thesis uses woven gloves which are made of Dyneema(?) yarn as the research object, studies the following main aspects:(1) Test the basic experimental material of European standard EN388, compare the specified parameters with the standard basic material which are used in the tests. And we can find that the thickness of the blade meet the standards, but the angles of the OLFA circle edge blade which gets from the direct microscopy test and indirect measurement-calculation are far smaller than the standard:32.5±2.5°. At the same time, for the determination of experimental contrast material-cotton which found on the market, the weight per unit area and the thickness are slightly higher than the standards. Both of the two aspects decline the cut resistant level of EN388 testing.(2) Analysis a few parameters which do not detailed in the EN388 standard. The direction of blade cutting has a greater impact for the results, but the tightness of screws in the sample carrier and the blade lubricant does not have much impact for test results.(3) Test the cut resistant properties of the weaving gloves which are woven with several different weaving parameters under the test methods of European standard EN388 and American Standard ASTM F-1790 and get the cutting index and cut resistant Newton force, in order to analyze the relationship between weaving parameters and cut resistant performance. In the mean time, compare the test two results of the two standards. We found that because of the different principle of the two methods, the results between the two standards are seriously different. At the same time, we observed that und the same testing standards and test conditions, the sample woven from filament yarn and the sample woven from spun yarn woven vary considerably, which is caused by the different yarn composition.(4) The coating has a negative impact for the cut resistant performance of cut resistant gloves; it makes the cut resistant glove performance decrease by 10%-25%. But the coating will enhance other performance of the cut resistant gloves, such as oil resistance and so on.
