Aiming to research and develop pigment printing thickener with excellent rheological properties and electrolyte-resistant reactive printing thickener, this paper synthesized thickening agents with emulsion polymerization and inverse polymerization respectively. First of all, functional monomer and cross linking monomer have been selected by the experimental design, and then acryloyl Span-80 and HXNW monomer have been synthesized. We have got ideal conditions to produce the thickener by single factor analyzing. And we have made performance tests as follows:On the one hand, the copolymer was prepared in emulsion solution using acrylate, polyalkyl glycol allyl epoxyl ethers and DAP as monomers, APS as initiator, SLS and Tween-80 as emulsifier. Adopted monomers dropping slowly in the solution during three hours, this reaction triggered at 80℃, and reacted four hours. Although the product has general thicken ability, it has the good rheological properties, soft, and has been able to meet the requirements of practical applications. On the other hand, we made HXNW monomer first, and the electrolyte-resistant thickener was prepared by inverse emulsion polymerization using neutralized AA and HXNW as monomers, ammonium persulfate-sodium bisulfate as initiator, MBAM as crosslinker, Tween-80、Span-80 and acryloyl Span-80 as emulsifier. Because there was a hydrophile group, it could dissolved in water easily. After the reaction was over, we distilled it at low pressure to make sure that it had little water at last. When water was as little as we supposed, we added Tx-10 into it and stirred it thoroughly. So we could get light yellow paste with good performance, and its electrolyte-resistance ability is from twice to sis times more than this kind of general product especially.
