We reported a method for preparing self-assembled Pt nanochains by using octreotideacetate (AOC) as bio-template in aqueous environment. The influence of solution pH wasexamined to to obtain the platinum nanoparticles with different morphologies. After24hincubation of AOC with PtCl4and chemical reduction with sodium borohydride(NaBH4),uniform platinum nanoparticles (mean diameter2.5±0.5nm) directed by AOC wereformed. Preliminary characterizations of the synthesized PtNPs were performed usingTEM, HRTEM, EDS, and selected area of electron diffraction. The cytotoxicity ofPt/octreotide acetate complexes (AOC-PtNPs) and AOC was evaluated by MTT. Theresults indicated that the antiproliferative effect of PtNPs–AOC is as high as AOC.Meanwhile, the influences of AOC-PtNPs complex on the tumor inhibition rate, tumor cellapoptosis, and the toxicity towards liver and kidney were also studied. The resultsindicated AOC-PtNPs had obvious antitumor properties, whereas lower toxicity towardsliver and kidney.We prepared Pd nanochains by using octreotide acetate (AOC) as bio-template inaqueous environment. The influence of solution pH and the concentration of PdCl2wereexamined to define the optimal conditions for the formation of the AOC bio-templated Pdnanoparticles (PdNPs) arrays. Palladium nanochains (PdNCs) constructed with Pdnanoparticles (PdNPs) of about5±0.5nm were formed and preliminary characterizationsof the synthesized PdNPs were performed. Cyclic voltammetry tests revealed thatPd/octreotide acetate complexes (AOC-PdNPs) present favorable electrocatalystproperties, and their ethanol oxidation reaction activity are found5.5times higher thanthat of the commercial Pt/C catalyst. The AOC-PdNPs catalyst with a high catalyticactivity has abroad applications in the field of catalyst.We prepared coral-like Co nanoparticles and Co-Pt nanochains by using octreotideacetate (AOC) as bio-template in aqueous environment,preliminary characterizations ofthe synthesized PdNPs were performed, and the cytotoxicity of Co/octreotide acetatecomplexes (AOC-CoNPs) and CoPt/octreotide acetate(AOC-CoPtNPs) complexes wereevaluated. The results indicated that the AOC-CoNPs and AOC-CoPtNPs had high antiproliferative. Due to the fact that AOC-CoNPs and AOC-CoPtNPs have good magneticproperties, they could be applied in drug delivery and tumor-targeted therapy.
