A new technology for the hot sheet metal forming of high-performance steel, putsforward requirements on fast clamping, stamping forming and holding pressure of thehydraulic press. Because fixed and single working mode of slides can’t meet the hotforming process of the holding function, traditional hydraulic machines don’t possess fastclamping and stamping function. The design of10MN hydraulic press with the advantagesof traditional hydraulic and mechanical press is applied to hot sheet metal forming ofhigh-performance steel.In this paper, body structure of the10MN hydraulic press for hot sheet metal formingof high-performance steel is designed based on the principle of the hydraulic design. Thenthe finite element software ABAQUS is adopted to do analysis on the key components ofthe hydraulic press body,such as hydraulic cylinder, beam and frame,which ensures thestrength and rigidity of body structure. The first10natural frequencies and thedeformation trend of corresponding mode shape are obtained through modal analysis ofthe frame in order to fully understand the characteristics of the frame.Hydraulic system of the10MN hydraulic machine is carried out in accordance withthe hot forming process’ technical requirements. The specific parameters for the rapidtravel rate is600mm/s, stamping speed100mm/s and return speed400mm/s. The cartridgeproportional throttle valve and the proportional relief valve is used for stepless control ofthe traveling speed and pressure relief so that the sudden change of traveling velocity andthe rapid pressure relief caused by impact vibration can be reduced. Hydraulic simulationsoftware AMESim is adopted to do modeling and simulation for process of free down,blank-holder and stamping based on the samples of rexroth company. On this basis, themodel of10MN hydraulic press for hot sheet metal forming of high-performance steel isobtained and dynamic simulation is done, through which the process of the activities in thespeed curve and position curve of beam and the pressure curve of hydraulic cylinder isobtained. At the same time the pressure relief process simulation under different controlsignals is carried out to find out the optimal pressure curve and make the stable operationof the hydraulic press realized.
