Raise boring machine is a widely used device in mines and coal mines. China raiseboring machine’s development is far behind the international famous raise borermanufacture. This research topic relied on a new type of raise boring machine namedRH30which is producted by a large domestic engineering machinery manufacturer. Aimto change the states that the large diameter and deep raise boring machine depended onimports and automation of China’s products is deficiency.After read and search on lots of relevant documents and learning international anddomestic each new raise drill products, proposed the design requirement and theperformance index of RH30raise boring machine’s electro-hydraulic control system.analyzed the construction process and operation process of raise borer. Designed a highdegree of automation, reliable, efficient hydraulic system which applies to large diameterraise borers. From mine survey, designed a detachable power station. The smallestdetachment of hydraulic power station can satisfy the mine shaft cage size requirements,convenient transportation and handling. Desinged a set of control system with highlyautomation and independent intellectual property right. It build-in fault warning,preventing misoperatin, drill automatic weighing, constant pressure and constant torquedrilling and other function.Based on the device which had been designed and manufactured, operared theresearch of multi-modal drilling control method. Including the constant pressure andconstant torque control drilling. The constant pressure drilling purpose to solve theproblem operator only through reading prussure gauge to calculate the drilling pressure.RH30can do it by controller without any manual intervention. Constant torque is that the2pressure senses’ reading placed in the motor’s two port as feedback. Though changingthe axial pressure to adjustment the torque constent. The constant pressure and torquedrilling both are intend to reduce the labor intensity of workers, improve the degree ofautomation, and protect the drill pipes.This research not only designed a complete set of an electro-hrdraulic control system for raise drill machine, and alse introduced the constent pressure ande torque drillingcontrol into the raise borer. It’s theoretical significance is laid the foundation for themore adcanced control algorithm introduced to drilling machine in the future. Thepractical significance is to improve the automation level of raise borer, ensure the drillingefficiengcy and reduce the labor intensity of the operator.
